Include it briefly to maintain craft credibility, but lead with team outcomes. One or two individual contributions at the IC level are fine to demonstrate you still practice design. However, hiring committees evaluate management candidates primarily on team building, mentorship, and organizational impact rather than personal design output.

Include team size, retention, hiring success, and career development outcomes. Also quantify design process improvements: review cadence, design system adoption, and handoff efficiency. Connect these operational metrics to business outcomes where possible to show that your team management directly contributed to product success.

Use specific numbers, percentages, dollar amounts, or time frames to quantify your impact. For example, "increased revenue by 25%" or "managed a team of 12." Even if you do not have exact figures, provide reasonable estimates with context to demonstrate measurable results.

Use professional, readable fonts like Calibri, Arial, or Garamond at 10 to 12 point size for a Design Manager resume. Stick to black text, clear section headers, and generous white space. Avoid decorative fonts, bright colors, and complex layouts that can cause ATS parsing errors.

Most Design Manager resumes should be one page for candidates with under 10 years of experience and two pages for senior professionals. Prioritize relevance over length. Every line should earn its place by demonstrating value to the target role.
