Orbyt Arcade
Orbyt Arcade is a collection of free retro browser games about the job hunt, made by Orbyt, free to play with no signup and no credit card. Each game turns a stage of the broken hiring process into an arcade mechanic. The games: Resume Invaders (Fire resumes into the void.); The Climb (Scale the ladder to the offer.); Ghosted (Out-run the recruiters who never wrote back.); The Offer (Climb the funnel. Sign the offer.); Application Runner (Hop the hiring funnel to the AI offer.).
None of this was ever a verdict on you.
The rejections have had their turn. Five games about the broken parts of the job hunt.
Free to play. No signup.
Resume Invaders
Every recruiter who ghosted you is in here somewhere.
Put the job search down for a minute and play. You play the hero, the ghosting recruiters and the ATS are the villains, and the jokes only ever point at the broken system.
The Climb
Ghosted
The Offer
All five games are free. No signup, no catch.
The recruiter decoder ring.
You are not imagining it. You have quietly become fluent in a language nobody admits they speak. The left is what they said. The right is what it meant.
They said
“We're like a family here.”
Run.
They said
“The salary is competitive.”
We competed with ourselves and won.
They said
“We're looking for a self-starter who can wear many hats.”
This is three jobs. There is no hat budget.
They said
“It's a fast-paced, dynamic environment.”
Nobody has documented anything since 2019. Good luck.
They said
“We've decided to move forward with other candidates.”
A keyword filter you will never see made this call in 0.3 seconds.
They said
“We value work-life balance.”
Said the email sent at 9:47 on a Tuesday night.
They said
“We're a lean team.”
We are short-staffed and decided to call it a personality.
They said
“We received an overwhelming number of qualified applicants.”
The job board did exactly what job boards do.
And a few more truths.
They said
“We'll keep your resume on file.”
Your resume now lives in a folder no human will open again. It is comfortable there.
They said
“We'll be in touch soon.”
Soon is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
They said
“You'd be a great culture fit.”
We have not figured out what the job is yet either.
They said
“We went with an internal candidate.”
The job was filled before it was posted. You did not lose it. There was nothing there to lose.
They said
“This is a unique opportunity.”
It is a job. We need it to sound bigger because the pay is smaller.
They said
“Where do you see yourself in five years?”
Please reassure us you will not leave the second something better appears.
They said
“We'd love to keep you in mind for future roles.”
We will not. We do not have a mind for this.
They said
“Tell me about your biggest weakness.”
Please incriminate yourself, casually, for our records.
None of it was ever about you. Now go fire back.
