The most asked questions are: Tell me about yourself, why this company, describe a challenge you overcame, where do you see yourself in 5 years, and what's your experience with AI tools. Behavioral questions using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) appear in nearly every interview round.

Prepare answers for 10 to 15 questions: 5 behavioral (STAR format), 3 to 5 role-specific technical questions, and 3 thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. Over-preparing leads to robotic answers. Focus on frameworks you can adapt, not memorized scripts.

Ask about team structure and who you'd work with directly, how success is measured in the first 90 days, and what the biggest challenge the team is facing right now. Avoid questions about salary, PTO, or perks in the first round. Those belong in the offer stage.

Use the STAR method: describe the Situation, the Task you owned, the Action you took, and the measurable Result. Prepare 5 stories that cover leadership, conflict, failure, collaboration, and initiative. Practice telling each in under 2 minutes.

Start 3 to 5 days before your interview. Day 1: research the company and role. Day 2: prepare your STAR stories. Day 3: practice out loud. Day 4: prepare your questions for the interviewer. Day 5: review and rest. Cramming the night before increases anxiety without improving performance.
