Two pages is standard for VP level roles. Use the first page for your most recent and impactful role, and the second for earlier experience. Condense roles older than 10 years into brief entries. At this level, depth on your last two to three positions matters more than comprehensiveness across your entire career.

Include them briefly to establish technical credibility, but do not let them dominate the page. A single line per early role showing company, title, and one key achievement is sufficient. Your recent leadership experience is what reviewers evaluate most closely at this level.

Use specific numbers, percentages, dollar amounts, or time frames to quantify your impact. For example, "increased revenue by 25%" or "managed a team of 12." Even if you do not have exact figures, provide reasonable estimates with context to demonstrate measurable results.

Use professional, readable fonts like Calibri, Arial, or Garamond at 10 to 12 point size for a VP of Engineering resume. Stick to black text, clear section headers, and generous white space. Avoid decorative fonts, bright colors, and complex layouts that can cause ATS parsing errors.

Most VP of Engineering resumes should be one page for candidates with under 10 years of experience and two pages for senior professionals. Prioritize relevance over length. Every line should earn its place by demonstrating value to the target role.
