Free, Pro, and Ultra subscribers: AI is hosted by Orbit and included with your plan. No API key setup is needed. All AI features work automatically.
Unlimited subscribers: The Unlimited plan is for power users who bring their own API key for zero caps and full data privacy. You need to configure your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Grok.
How to configure (Unlimited only):
- Go to Settings > Preferences
- Choose your AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Grok)
- Paste your API key
- Optionally select a specific model
Key security: Your API keys are stored in localStorage only and are never synced to Supabase. They stay on your device.
Which provider to choose:
- OpenAI: Best for resume tailoring and general tasks
- Anthropic: Best for nuanced coaching and conversation
- Grok: Alternative with competitive pricing
If you are on Unlimited and no key is configured, AI-powered buttons (AI Draft, Suggest, etc.) are hidden and the app works normally without them.
